POD #34 - The first day I suspect the light at the end of the tunnel is not actually the Howard-Dan Ryan red line subway

I think 90% of the gabapentin magically left my body Monday.  (Because that shit was still there Sunday.)

Monday was completely oxycodone-free.  No narcs, no benzos...ibuprofen only.  (Yesterday I took one after an hour of coughing.)

Today was planned as what constitutes "ambitious" in my world.  I drove up to see Jane this morning about quarter to ten and hung our with her until noon or so, drove home.  (She lives 40 minutes north.)  The drive was stunningly okay.  (Rough roads and Subaru shocks on new rib hardware...)

Got home, ate, took an hourlong nap and then walked the track three times, which put me at about 4000 steps for the day.

Met Sam at the track (she lives pretty close) and her girls to walk some more and did 10,000 steps.

And it's 7:20 pm and so far, zero oxy today, either.  (I'm not going to be a hero if I regret those steps in two hours...but so far...I'm managing.)

For the first time since the tailspin starting week three, I think I may actually get through this.

thanks, Sam.

I'm a middle aged nurse with a hole in my chest.  I created this because I'm intending to have that fixed.
I used to paint, and now I make quilts.  But I'm not done painting.
In addition to working full time, I am picking at a master's (though I haven't yet committed to a master's in what.)
